Pink Pirouette Handbag – every girl needs one of these!

You may remember a couple of weeks ago I posted a cute little handbag. I have a workshop coming up with a little girl’s birthday theme so I decided to do a little girl’s handbag! It is perfect to put a little present inside or to use as a goodie bag for a party!

Princess handbag

The other side of the bag has a little butterfly attached - click here to see my tutorial on how to make them. I have used the Perfect Princess stamp set which is great for little girl’s projects.

Basic Jumbo Grommets

A little while ago I got some of the Basic Jumbo Grommets from the Summer Mini Catalogue (click here to see the catalogue) and I have been waiting for the right project to use them on.

The 1/2″ circle punch is the same size as the hole in the middle of the grommet and they are great to use with Ribbon or to attach things onto your project!

Here is a card I have designed to go with the handbag.

Birthday Present – pretty in pink!

Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you….. one of my best friends turned 40 last week, so it was time to get Flutterby Creating and make something special for her – and this is what I came up with!

Flutterby vase candle holder

I picked up the vase / candle holder (it can be used for either purpose) from Ikea and it stands about 30cm tall. I decided that less was more with this gift and have kept it simple. I made some Flutterby’s (see my flutterby making post for details on how to make them) and wrapped some ribbon around the vase.

The next step was to make a card that matched. I decided to keep the colour scheme the same as the vase. I used the 5 Petal Flower punch to make a cut out in the bottom right hand corner of the card – which you can see through to the inside of the card and I have stamped on the punch and incorporated it into the design!

Birthday Card

What I used:

  • Stamp Sets: Happy Moments, Flight of the Butterfly, Totally Tabs
  • Card: Regal Rose White Vellum, Confetti Cream
  • Ink: Pink Passion, Versa Mark
  • Other: Paper Snips, Butterfly Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch, Round Tab Punch, Mini Glue Dots, Sticky Strip, 1″ Rose Red Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Aluminum White Circle Metal Edge Tags, Clips Assortment,
  • Non Stampin’ Up!: Ikea Candle Holder / Vase, Bead Wire, Seed Beads, wire cutters

Punches with a difference – 5 Petal Flower = Flutterby

As promised, here is a fantastic idea to get more out of your punches! This technique turns the 5 Petal Flower punch into a Flutterby!

Step 1: Gather your tools together! You will need the 5 Petal Flower punch, some Paper Snips and some Paper or Vellum.

Step 1

Step 1

Step 2

Step 2

Step 2

Step 2

Step 2: Punch out a flower using the punch. It is easiest to use the punch upside down so you can see the paper you are punching.

Step 3: Using the Paper Snips, cut off one of the petals. Follow the line of the petals with your cut so it is in a v shape.

Step 4

Step 3

Step 4

Step 3

Step 4 : Now you have a Flutterby! They are great layered with the Butterfly Punch from the Summer Mini Catalogue – here is a finished example using Vellum and cardstock. You can stamp the vellum for added effect.

Flutterby

Mini Glue dots are great to attach the 2 layers of flutterby’s together and you can also use bead wire with seed beads to add some “bling” to the body of the flutterby.

What I used:

  • Stamp Sets: None
  • Card: Regal Rose, White Vellum
  • Ink: None
  • Other: Paper Snips, Butterfly Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch, Mini Glue Dots
  • Non Stampin’ Up!: Bead Wire, Seed Beads, wire cutters

Until next time – happy Flutterby Creating!
