Christmas cards sent, so Santa must be nearly here?

Christmas Card 2010 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon Flutterby Creations Christmas Card 2010 Christmas Card 2010 Rhinestones & Pearls

My Christmas cards are in the mail (or waiting to be delivered in person over the next couple of days!) so now it must be nearly time for santa to come?

I decided to use some traditional colours for my cards this year (green and red) but I have also used purple just to spice things up a little!Christmas Card 2010 Delightful Decorations

To get the effect on the bottom half of the card I have used the Big Shot Machine and the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. To add some shimmer and shine to the project, I have used a sponger dauber to add Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the embossed areas of the paper once it has been run through the Big Shot Machine.

The ornament has been stamped using the Delightful Decorations stamp set using Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint instead of ink – just use your dauber to apply the shimmer paint to the stamp. The Extra Large Ornament Punch co-ordinates beautifully with this stamp set and has been used to cut out the ornament once it has been stamped.

Christmas Ribbon

Instead of tying a knot in the ribbon (which made the card a little bulky), I have tied some Linen Thread around the 2 pieces of 1-1/4″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. I just love how this looks and I think this will appear in many more projects to come!

What I used:

  • Stamp Sets: Delightful Decorations, Heard from the Heart
  • Card: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Crumb Cake
  • Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
  • Accessories & Tools: Shimmer Paint Champagne Mist, Ornament Extra Large Punch, 1″Circle Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Rich Razzleberry 1-1/4″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Old Olive 1-1/4″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Riding Hood Red 1-1/4″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread, Cutter Kit, Basic Rhinestones, Basic Pearls, Big Shot Machine, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Folder, Sticky Strip, Snail Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Sponge Dauber

Vintage Vogue – Open House creations

As promised, here is the creation we made at the Autumn Mini Open House last Saturday!

Vintage Vogue Open House Card

When I first saw the Autumn Mini Catalogue I fell in love with the Vintage Vogue stamp set. I purchased this stamp set in the new clear stamps – which are fabulous! They are easy to position using the clear blocks and they are stored in a DVD case – so they take up less room to store than then wooden mounted stamps!

I have used a skewer to curl up the edges of the flower petals to add some interest to the card!

I have also fallen in love with my new big shot machine… it makes life so easy and the results are fabulous! The Top Note Bigz die looks fantastic as the basis for this card – and the big shot machine means making multiple cards is quick and easy!

Vintage Vogue Open House Card detail

The gold brads in the centre of the flowers add some sparkle and bling!

What I used:

  • Stamp Sets: Vintage Vogue
  • Card: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White,
  • Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede, Versa Mark
  • Other: Paper Snips, Snail Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Gold Brads, Big Shot Machine, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Top Note Bigz Die, Rich Razzleberry 1/2″ Polka-dot Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Non SU – Skewer

Stay tuned for some more creations from the open house next week. Until next time, Happy Flutterby Creating!

Birthday Present – pretty in pink!

Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you….. one of my best friends turned 40 last week, so it was time to get Flutterby Creating and make something special for her – and this is what I came up with!

Flutterby vase candle holder

I picked up the vase / candle holder (it can be used for either purpose) from Ikea and it stands about 30cm tall. I decided that less was more with this gift and have kept it simple. I made some Flutterby’s (see my flutterby making post for details on how to make them) and wrapped some ribbon around the vase.

flutterby vase detail

The next step was to make a card that matched. I decided to keep the colour scheme the same as the vase. I used the 5 Petal Flower punch to make a cut out in the bottom right hand corner of the card – which you can see through to the inside of the card and I have stamped on the punch and incorporated it into the design!

Birthday Card

What I used:

  • Stamp Sets: Happy Moments, Flight of the Butterfly, Totally Tabs
  • Card: Regal Rose White Vellum, Confetti Cream
  • Ink: Pink Passion, Versa Mark
  • Other: Paper Snips, Butterfly Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch, Round Tab Punch, Mini Glue Dots, Sticky Strip, 1″ Rose Red Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Aluminum White Circle Metal Edge Tags, Clips Assortment,
  • Non Stampin’ Up!: Ikea Candle Holder / Vase, Bead Wire, Seed Beads, wire cutters

Raspberry Tart Card

Raspberry Tart Card

I decided this morning that it was time to get creative with my new Stampin’ Up! kit and make something instead of “tweaking” my website.

This card is a very simple design but it looks great – and it can be used with any colour scheme or for any occasion. For this card I have used the Raspberry Tart papers (from the Designer Series Paper in the 2009-2010 Ideas Book).

For the white circles on the card I have used Whisper White card with the Crimper – I love this look and the texture that it provides. The crimper is very easy to use and I am looking forward to trying out new ways to use it!

Another new product I used (well I guess at the moment they are all new!) is the Stamp-a-ma-jig – what a fabulous product. It makes using multiple stamps a breeze as well as lining up your stamps so they are all straight!

As for all the punches I have used…. what can I say – I love them all! but that might be a topic for another day!

What I used:

  • Stamp Sets: Basic Phrases
  • Card: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Raspberry Tart, Whisper White
  • Ink: Whisper White
  • Other: Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, 1″ Circle Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Corner Punch, Clips Assortment, Crimper, Bone Folder

That is all for now. If you would like to book a Workshop to learn how to make this card or if you would like to place an order for any of the products I have used, please contact me.
